By: | | Share Tweet Email

Every quarter,  MS&C Commercial brings to you the latest news from commercial real estate in Sarasota, Manatee, and Charlotte county. Read on for in depth look at what’s happening in our region in the second quarter of 2016.

State of the Market: Manatee, Charlotte, & Sarasota Counties

The Sarasota, Manatee and Charlotte County markets continue to appeal to investors and developers into the second quarter. Responding to demand, the MS&C Commercial Division introduced specialized Tenant Representation services, and has already signed six new clients to assist in their strategic expansions either into or out of the Southwest Florida region. For office space, the most notable improvements were seen within downtown Sarasota, along the I-75 corridor and Bradenton submarkets. The total vacancy rate dropped 0.8% to 9.7% as a result of positive overall absorption. On the industrial side, positive demand and improved vacancy rates saw an increase in lease rates for the regional market.

Commercial Trends and Reports

Since 1977 – a year after its parent organization was founded by Michael Saunders – MS&C Commercial has been a dominant force throughout all sectors of the region’s commercial real estate market. During these forty years, the company’s home-grown leadership has not only seen the region explode in size and popularity, but has also been instrumental in spearheading its residential and commercial growth. As a result, businesses looking to expand into the region often look to Michael Saunders and Drayton Saunders and their commercial leadership team for guidance in accomplishing their strategic goals.

Locally, MS&C Commercial has already been retained by Detweiler’s Farm Market, Pandora Jewelry, Massage Luxe, Naples Flatbread & Wine Bar, Culver’s Restaurants and Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants for its Tenant Representation services.

Helping businesses pinpoint the best strategic locations to buy or lease properties is nothing new to our commercial team. In many ways we have been doing this for our commercial clients for many years as the region has grown in size and importance. Thanks to our solidly upscale demographic, Southwest Florida is now on the radar screens of many of the country’s most up and coming restaurant and retail chains hoping to tap into the region’s growth and affluence. All they need do is leverage the local expertise of our Tenant Representation team to help them make the real estate decisions that will best optimize their growth strategy.

MS&C Commercial Team Attends ICSC Las Vegas

In May, Commercial team members were in attendance at the 2016 International Council of Shopping Centers in Las Vegas. Renowned as the global convention for the shopping center industry, the event provided networking, deal making and educational opportunities for retail real estate professionals from around the world. With over 36,000 attendees and 1,000 exhibitors, the MS&C Commercial Team had the opportunity to meet retailers, view the latest industry products and services, attend educational sessions and seek out their next deal – which happened to be the new Dickey’s Barbecue Pit restaurant. MS&C Commercial facilitated the deal between the barbecue joint and Benderson Development Co. The new restaurant will arrive at the intersection of State Road 70 and Lockwood Ridge Road later this year.
