Michael Saunders & Company has once again been recognized in RealTrends 500’s annual survey of the top 500 residential real estate brokerages in the U.S. The independent Sarasota-based company was ranked #77 in sales volume, with $3.674 billion – the highest among locally based firms. The 2023 RealTrends 500 survey results are based on closed residential sales in 2022.
“It is truly an honor to be recognized among the top 15% of real estate companies across the U.S. for sales volume in the recent RealTrends 500 rankings,” said company founder and CEO Michael Saunders. “We are very proud of our 2022 performance, which culminated in the second-best year in sales volume in the company’s history. When we measure our success over our 47 years, we are most proud of the confidence our customers have placed in us as the local trusted advisor with national and global reach and a deep commitment to the communities we serve.”
Founded in 1976, Michael Saunders & Company has more than 600 agents across Sarasota, Manatee and Charlotte counties. The company’s largest 2022 sale was a 12,000-square-foot waterfront estate on nearly two acres in Sarasota’s Harbor Acres for $17.5 million. Agents Linda Driggs and Kim Ogilvie listed the home, which set a record for the highest-ever residential sale in the tri-county region.
Now in its 35th year, the RealTrends 500 is produced by RealTrends, a part of HW Media. Mark Adams, vice president of real estate at HW Media, said this year’s list “shows the impact of a shifting market on the top brokerage firms in the country. While transaction sides and volume were understandably down from their 2021 peak, the firms represented in the RealTrends 500 outperformed the market and their peers in almost all categories.”
