MSC agents jump into action to help the Bahamas

Michael Saunders & Company staff and associates gather supplies for Bahama residents in need following Hurricane Dorian. Mitch Mesenburg filling up his truck at the Main Street and Osprey office.

The enormous hearts and outreach expressed from our agents and staff in a time of need is nothing short of inspiring. When Hurricane Dorian devastated parts of The Bahamas recently, our Englewood office and agent Misty Raines decided to act.

Through Misty’s personal connections on the island, she spread the word to Michael Saunders & Company offices that she would gladly arrange for supplies to be delivered to those in need. Over the next several weeks, our Englewood team will be collecting items from our offices across Sarasota, Manatee and Charlotte counties, then Misty will drive the supplies to Fort Lauderdale to be shipped by sea directly to the island residents in need.

The list of supplies can be viewed below.

Relief Efforts

Our thoughts continue to be with the people of the Bahamas during their time of recovery. We have touched base with our Christie’s and Luxury Portfolio affiliates – HG Christie and Bahamas Realty – to express our desire to help and contribute towards relief efforts. As such, they directed us to the following organizations where they feel resources will make a huge difference and reach those in greatest need. We have made donations to both organizations in the company’s name.

Recommended by our Luxury Portfolio International affiliate Larry Roberts at Bahama Realty:

Hurricane Dorian Update and Relief Fund

  • District 7020 of the Disaster Network of Assistance Action Group and neighboring Rotary Districts in Zone 33-34 are gathering to provide aid and assistance to the residents affected by the hurricane.

Recommended by our Christie’s International Real Estate affiliate H.G. Christie Ltd.:

HeadKnowles Foundation

  • The foundation has teams of volunteers working to help restore and rebuild areas of the Bahamas following Hurricane Dorian’s impact.
