There are plenty of patriotic festivities occurring around the Suncoast to celebrate the 4th of July with friends and family. From fireworks to boat races, BBQs and dog parades, there’s something here for everyone.

July 1 – 2, 2023: The 39th Annual PI Offshore Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix is back for 2 days of powerboat racing fun. High-speed boats racing off the coast of sparkling Lido Key Beach is one of the top events of the year. The event is FREE.
July 1 – 3, 2023: Before the fireworks, check out some fine food truck fare at The Suncoast’s Largest Food Truck Festival! There will be over 75 food trucks, a family zone, and more. Event is a fundraiser for 3 local charities. $5 entry / 18 and under free. Saturday 2 pm – 7 pm, Sunday 12 pm – 6 pm, Monday 3 pm – 9 pm. Fireworks on the Lake at Nathan Benderson Park on Monday. July 3, 2023: Fireworks on the Lake at Nathan Benderson Park. Enjoy live music, a kid zone, a 5K run and walk, and fireworks around 9 pm. Gates open at 5 pm. Admission is free. July 3, 2023: Let’s go to the ballpark and enjoy Baseball and Fireworks! Root for the Marauders as they go up against the Lakeland Threshers and stay for fireworks after the game at LECOM Field. July 4, 2023: For rousing renditions of patriotic music, attend the American Fanfare Concert where the Choral Artists of Sarasota celebrate America. Enjoy musical fireworks in this stirring salute to America. 4:30 p.m. Tickets: $5 – $50. Sarasota Opera House, 61 N Pineapple Avenue, Sarasota, FL
July 4, 2023: The Sarasota Bayfront Fireworks is a great place to watch the fireworks go off over the bay. Organized by Suncoast Charities for Children in partnership with Marina Jack, the light show will begin around 9 pm, close to dark.
July 4, 2023: The Annual Freedom Fest on Longboat Key kicks off with a butterfly release, followed by the shortest parade in America. Enjoy, food, games, and plenty of activities for children. Don’t miss the Hot Diggity Dog Parade and contest with prizes. To register your patriotic canine, call 847-274-8741. July 4, 2023: Join the Knights of Columbus as they celebrate the 4th with a Patriotic Ceremony and BBQ Picnic. Doors open at 11:30 am, BBQ starts at noon and features burgers, dogs, and usual picnic fare. Beer and wine available. $15.
